Le fil de métal appelé garniture se détache parfois et commence à dérouler.

Ça se répare. Souvent en argent ou en argent sur soie, la garniture est enroulée autour de la baguette et soudée ou attachée. L’argent sur soie est assez fragile. Quand le fil se déroule un peu, on peut le remettre mais tout dépend de son état, parfois il faut le changer complètement.

La garniture joue un rôle crucial dans la balance de l’archet, son poids est donc important pour un bon équilibre dans la tenue de l’archet.

This can be repaired. Often made of silver or silver on silk, the lapping is wrapped around the stick and soldered or attached. Silver on silk is quite fragile. When the wire unravels a little, it can be reattached, but depending on its condition, it sometimes needs to be replaced completely.

The lapping plays a crucial role in the balance of the bow; its weight is therefore important for a good balance when holding the bow.
